Sanitary Tower
- Transversal
- Test bench
The Sanitary Tower is a building over 23 metres high, comprising eight floors and a basement. Built around fifty years ago and partially renovated about a decade ago, it hosts full-scale test rigs for sanitary engineering studies. The tower configuration makes it possible to harness gravity to generate constant pressures at each level, using a reservoir installed on the eighth and top floor.
The tower currently includes three permanent test facilities:
- one dedicated to characterizing flow rates in rainwater drainage systems
- two focused on domestic hot water (DHW) recirculation loops — one with a single loop and another with four loops — supporting research on legionella control, hydraulic balancing and water system performance.
Temporary test installations can also be deployed according to project needs.
