Transmission System Microgrid
- Transversal
Unique in Wallonia, the microgrid developed by the Electrical Power Engineering Unit – UMons is a scaled-down model of AC transmission networks.
The model includes rotating elements (alternators, rotating loads) and stationary elements (transformers, lines, loads) that satisfy similarity laws with respect to the corresponding elements (reactance, time constant and magnetic saturation) in a real network. The microgrid also integrates a wind turbine emulator bench, an infinite bus and REGATRON units that allow to emulate other components or subsystems such as modern distribution networks, HVDC connections or specific loads (datacenters).
